Synergy is Officially a Registered Charity!

CHESTERMERE, AB - May 18, 2018 – Synergy Youth and Community Development Society, a local organization dedicated to leadership and wellness education, is excited to announce they have officially become a registered charity. This achievement opens doors for a number of new funding and grant opportunities that were not previously available to the organization as a not-for-profit.

“We are extremely excited to now become an official charity. It opens all kinds of doors for us,” Deborah Hitchcock, Board Co-chair for Synergy said.

As with most organizations relying on funding from grants and donations, Synergy is hoping these new opportunities for funding will work to sustain their programs offering mentorship, support and belonging to the youth and communities of Chestermere, Langdon and rural SE Rocky View .

“I was surprised we achieved charitable status so quickly after applying [for the second time], but I think it’s a testament to the charitable nature of everything we do since all of our programs have structure, focus and always incorporate learning objectives,” says Terry Gill, Program Co-ordinator at Synergy. “It is a big win for us, but it’s an even bigger win for the youth and community who truly benefit from what we do.”
