What is the Heart of Synergy Award?
This award is presented in honour of Synergy’s founder, Patty Sproule, to acknowledge and reward a young individual who has made an outstanding contribution to our community. The recipients are recognized annually by the Heart of Synergy award committee with a certificate of acknowledgement and award.
Award Description
This award honors the young individual who has gone above and beyond to selflessly give their time, energy, and skills to causes that matter. Whether through community service, charitable initiatives, or social outreach, the recipient of this award stands out for their remarkable efforts in improving the lives of others.

The Patty Sproule Heart of Synergy Award aims to inspire and applaud the spirit of philanthropy and community engagement among the youth. The recipient embodies the values of empathy, responsibility, and a strong sense of civic duty, serving as a role model for their peers and inspiring a new generation of compassionate leaders.

The award typically considers factors such as the creativity and innovation demonstrated in their initiatives, the sustained commitment to fostering positive change, and the individual's impact on the community. It serves as a testament to the belief that age is not a barrier to making a meaningful difference in the world and highlights the invaluable contributions of youth to the betterment of society.
Are you Eligible?
1. Open to individuals aged 14-24.
2. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of volunteer service with Synergy.
3. Nomination form must be fully completed and submitted before the nomination deadline.
4. Deadline for submitting nominations is midnight on March 31st.
5. Self-nominations are accepted, but nominees must provide two reference letters.
6. Reference letters should specifically address the nominee's qualities in relation to the award criteria.
7. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview by the selection committee.
8. Formal recognition will be awarded to 2nd and 3rd place candidates.
9. The award will be presented during the Synergy Annual General Meeting.
10. Individuals are eligible to win the award only once.

Leadership Skills: Recognition of leadership qualities exhibited by the nominee, such as the ability to inspire others, take initiative, and effectively organize and lead/support others.

Collaboration and Teamwork: The nominee's ability to work collaboratively, fostering a sense of teamwork and inclusivity.

Community Involvement: Consideration of the nominee's involvement in various aspects of the community, both in terms of volunteerism and a broader engagement in community activities.
